Saturday, July 14, Sony Pictures has promoted action SF "After Earth" at Comic-Con Convention in San Diego, but Indian director M. Night Shyamalan and actors Will Smith and Jaden Smith were not present at the event answering the questions of journalists and fans.Producers decided to make their blockbuster through backstage footage, including a clip where M. Night Shyamalan explains how to approach the script by Stephen Gaghan and Gary Whittle as "After Earth" is a documentary about future of the planet Earth, but also through a video highlighting alternative history that use film.
According to The Playlist, the story begins more than a century ago, in 1908, when an alien spaceship crashed on Earth, continues with events today and venturing into the future, in the year 2066, suggesting that people will and then use social network Facebook to learn new information or to become familiar with what happened in the past.
After an apocalyptic cataclysm, mankind was forced to flee and take refuge on Earth planet Nova Prime, General Raige Cypher (Will Smith) returning home after a long mission that kept him away from his family and striving to connect with Kitai (Jaden Smith) and his son aged 13 years.
"After Earth" cast include Isabelle Fuhrman, Zoë Kravitz and Sophie Okonedo and will be released in cinemas in the U.S. on June 7, 2013.
